MŌ TĒNEI TŪRANGA MAHI - ABOUT THE ROLE

Sexual Wellbeing Aotearoa is seeking an experienced nurse leader to take on the role of Nurse Lead – Practice Development and Digital Learning. This role is pivotal in shaping the future of nursing education at Sexual Wellbeing Aotearoa.

You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and evaluating educational programmes that build professional development, strengthen clinical competency, and meet the ongoing training needs of our nursing workforce. By working closely with nursing leadership, clinical staff, and key stakeholders, you will help ensure our nurses are confident, capable, and practising safely at the top of their scope.

A key focus of this role will be developing and embedding resources and frameworks that strengthen training pathways, professional standards, and workforce engagement. By creating sustainable learning systems – including digital learning opportunities – you will help establish a robust national framework for the future.

This is a fixed-term role for 12 months, established to design and implement national nursing education programmes and create a foundation that will support ongoing professional development across the organisation. This is a part time position working 16 hours each week, over two to three days, with one of these days to be worked on a Wednesday. We are open to discussing the work location, to be based in either Wellington or Auckland. 

We are looking for someone with the following: 

  • Registered Nurse with a current NZ practising certificate.
  • Proven experience in clinical education, practice development, or professional development roles.
  • Strong skills in designing and implementing education programmes (including digital learning).
  • Excellent collaboration and relationship-building ability across diverse teams.
  • A values-led approach, aligned with Sexual Wellbeing Aotearoa’s commitment to high-quality, client-centred care.
